Astro*Carto*Graphy®, developed by the late Jim Lewis, revolutionized astrology by transforming the ancient horoscope wheel into a world map that shows at a glance where a person can find love, money, vitality, or even jump-start a fading career - simply by moving to a new location. The Psychology of Astro*Carto*Graphy, based on Lewis' writings, notes, and lectures, with additional material by Kenneth Irving, has long been hailed as the definitive work on the subject, and this new edition revises and extends the information found in the original. Detailed explanations of the changes each planet can bring to a particular location help the reader to apply Astro*Carto*Graphy's insights to his or her own life. The book also includes useful notes, an index, historical and technical notes on Astro*Carto*Graphy, a resource section for further study, and afterwords on Jim Lewis, the man and the teacher, and the continuing charitable work that stems from his legacy.

Sat. April 1, 2017. 12:30-4:30 PM. Boston NCGR Chapter. Belmont MA. Workshop. Forecasting Techniques that Really Work: Dashas and Transits. Indian astrology is known for its predictive techniques, namely the Vimshottari Dasha System, whereas one's life is divided into planetary periods. Along with transits to the birth chart through the houses and activating planets, these two techniques will give you the tools you need to make accurate predictions. We will especially look at the double transit of Jupiter and Saturn, to pinpoint which areas of the chart will be activated in a given year. What is even better is that you do not need to know Indian astrology in order to learn about Dashas. All you need to get the most out of this lecture, is a basic understanding of how astrology works, and an open and curious mind. Lots of case studies will be looked at. Information and Registration. Part 8. Divisional (Varga) Charts. One of the most important functions of certain varga charts is whether or not the planet is strengthened or weakened, and this is one of the factors that comprise the calculation of shad bala, or the six strengths of the planet. In these next two webinars, we will focus on these, and try to look at these varga charts more traditionally ie. what Varahamihira says in Brihajjataka, as well as add other variations on how to use them. Some astrologers use six varga charts to calculate planetary strength, and some astrologers use seven. They are known as the sat (six) varga or sapta (seven) varga charts. These are rasi (birth chart), hora (wealth), drekkana (siblings), which is the equivalent of the Western decanate chart, navamsa (marriage and dharma), dvadasaṃsa (parents), and trimsamsa (fortune and misfortune). Adding saptamsa (children) they become the sapta vargas. Adding dasamsa (career), shodasamsa (vehicles), and shastyamsa (strengths and weaknesses), they become the dasa (10) vargas. We explore the vargas with examples. We will especially look at the importance of the sarpa drekkanas, the 22nd drekkana and the 64th navamsa in terms of health.
